 On board from Massachusetts Hi, my name is Scott and I'm a retired Police Captain from MA. Last June as a retirement gift my wife and I purchased two new Harleys, her 09 Softail Deluxe and an 09 black FLHTP (a demo with 11 miles on it) for me. Re: On board from Massachusetts Well I wasn't a motor officer but I supervised them and my son rides for the department. From my experience the problem seldom involves the officers intentionally abusing the machines. More often they are not concerned or informed regarding maintainance and problems arise due to neglect. You can get abusive officers on any department but generally if they keep breaking the bikes they don't ride for long.
